Boston, Massachusetts, USA – Travel Essay

I have come to Boston less than 10 times.  I went to Fenway Park probably 6 times.  I came to Boston 3 times for chess tournaments and 1 time for a Rock and Roll concert.  I enjoyed my big city time in Boston but I am a small town type of guy.  It was a cool thing for me to purchase tomorrow’s newspaper.

Here are some of the best things to do in Boston in no particular order; The Boston Common; The Freedom Trail; The Bunker Hill Monument with its 221 foot Obelisk; The Museum of Science at Science Park; Boston Duck Tours; The Public Garden; Boston Bruins, 100 Legends Way; Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, 4 Yawkey Way; Museum of Fine Arts; Boston Children’s Museum; Boston Celtics, 22 Causeway Street.

Make Way for Ducklings, 286 Congress Street; New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA; Old North Church; Boston Marathon; Beacon Hill; U.S.S Constitution, 24 5TH Street; and the Paul Revere House, 19 North Square.  Some of these attractions are seasonal, especially the sports.

My favorite attraction was the Freedom Trail. A walk along the two-and-a-half-mile Freedom Trail is one of the best ways to get acquainted with Boston and to efficiently visit the city's bounty of historic landmarks. The Freedom Trail is marked with a painted or bricked red line that is easy to follow. Signs along the Trail identify each of the 16 stops.
