A long time ago It was all for me Before I could know Your death on a tree ~
Had I been there To try and stop you Would I not dare Like Peter did too ~
Yes I am sure The death that you died Not wanting to endure I would have tried ~
To stop it all then It didn’t seem fair An innocent man This cross to bear ~
I will never know The price that you paid For upon that cross You took my place ~
I can only try To imagine the pain Blood that was shed The reason you came ~
What kind of love Does three nails fashion What kind of man Holds this much passion ~ He chose to die for me I do not understand For I am only dust I am but mere man ~
Yet this One loves me With love I’ve never known No beginning and no end This love keeps going on ~
I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19
