In the Beginning

Look around

And you tell me

How it is

One cannot see

Things He made

With His own hands

Do not exist

Because of man

God was

Before we were

How is it then

One can defer

To a theory

And not the One

Who created all

When said and done

~

I wonder why

One does not concede

That things began

When God did speak

~

We’ll never know

Anything more

Than He spoke

Yet we implore

~

To find a way

Other than this

To prove how

Everything exists

~

He is not a formula

That we can solve

He is, He will be

And He always was

~

In the beginning

This is the key

He was, He is,

Forever He will be!

~

In the beginning

Before things began

Existed God

But not yet man

~

So again

You tell me

How it is

One cannot see

~

In the beginning

Man was not there

Until God formed

Out of thin air

~

A man called Adam

He did create

Gave Him a name

And gave him a mate

~

Nothing more

Nothing less

It is that simple

So just rest

~

In the beginning

And one day we’ll see

When we are in Heaven

For eternity

~

That with one word

The Maker above

Created a man

Out of pure love

~

Love is not a theory

Love has a name

Love is not a thing

Love is why He came

~

In the beginning

And in the end

Love will exist

Forever amen.
