"Treasure Hunt" From: (Collected Moments) By: Sherry Davison
What is it that you are looking for Most of us don't know We only feel an empty space Way down in our soul
The emptiness creates the search For that which we don't see We only know that deep inside Resides an unmet need
We try this and we try that And all to no avail It only lasts a little while This wind that fills our sail
Here today and gone tomorrow It never seems to last Before we turn around The wind is in the past
The sails come down again Back where we once were Searching yet again For our souls to stir
One has to wonder Will we ever see This search exists for things Which are yet to be
God set eternity In our very souls Truth that we discover As the journey unfolds
Each day we live While here on the earth An adventure waiting To be given birth
Every moment is a chance That we have been given To know our God That we might start living
That for which we search Is not a thing at all He is the Creator Of all things great and small
The things He holds for us Are treasures oh so rare To the things of this world They cannot compare
One does not see these things But they can be known Nothing can destroy them They flow from His throne
We look everywhere To find that which we need Because we cannot see it Upon other things we feed
Testing, tasting, trying Until we think we'll find That one final thing That will ease our mind
Most of what we try Is a temporary fix We try and we try To find the right mix
And all the while He waits Patiently you see For us to give up So that we will flee
Into His open arms Where we finally find Everything we need For our peace of mind
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. Matt 13:44
Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3
