"Listen to Me"

From (Collected Moments)

By: Sherry Davison

It happened one morning

Going out the door

I heard a small voice

Speaking once more

Don't forget your umbrella

You might get wet

I ignored the voice

Rain was no threat

At the top of the steps

The voice came again

Please get that umbrella

It is going to rain

Too much trouble

To go back inside

So I took my chances

Kept up my stride

Sitting in traffic

At the first light

I heard it again

It was a fight

The weatherman said

Only a slight chance

No need to go back

So I held my stance

Almost to work

Not a cloud around

From out of nowhere

It came with a bound

A storm approached

Here came the rain

Not just a little

It was insane

The voice came back

And to me it said

Didn't I warn you

What was ahead

But I didn't listen

I thought it just me

Surely not God

Speaking you see

Oh but it was

And He let me know

It was indeed Him

Telling me so

I arrived to work

The rain did cease

The sun came out

A rainbow smiled at me

I had to smile and thank Him

For His speaking to me

Maybe next time

I'll listen and see

Just before going inside

He spoke to me once more

Read this verse He said

You've never read before

I grabbed my Bible

What would He say

I marveled at His humor

The rest of the day

Ezekiel 2:8 NLT

Son of man, listen to what I say to you.....
