Waves

Religious b
y Jan Watts
December 4, 2000

Waves rush into the shoreline and trickle back to sea,
They rush up to the shore again and then back where they use to be.
The waves are everlasting and last eternally,
Where are waves lapping in your head mentally?

Have you made a commitment to make the most of life,
Or do you let the waves knock you over and create strife?

Waves can be your friend or they can be an enemy,
It's all in the way you look at the waves eventually.

Waves can be soft and embracing like the hug from someone you love,
Or the waves can rage upon you like the thunder from above.

Waves can feel like a pleasant breath of fresh air,
Or they can be something you need to watch with care.

Have you let the waves of life over take you?
Or have they led you to a place that is true?

Don't let the waves of life beat you to a pulp,
Take them to God in prayer and lift them up.

Every prayer should be left at the feet of our Lord,
And never utter the same problem with another word.

His word is true, His word is life, His word is strong,
Listen to His teachings and you won't go wrong.

Take peace in knowing that your cares are in His hands,
Those hands our big enough to stretch across the lands.
After you have poured out your soul bare,
There's not a better place to leave a care.

Don't let the waves overtake you,
Leave them with a God who is true.
