Broken Chains
Poem by, Brandon Jastal

Your chains no longer bind my soul and I am grateful
The decisions made have only enlightened me further
Before hand life was barren and honestly quite dull
I am free and young, I am sad and depressed no more

This is my thank you, not to your eyes however and that's fine
Knowing to myself is thanks enough for I care not of you
Simply and fully I feel you no more and this is mine
The sun will shine down upon my face but this is not our sun, though you feel it too

I am the chick just fallen from the nest, see me fly
Falling to an abrupt stop is no longer an option, I choose life
Soaring free through the clouds in my blue sky
I might land near you, but surely you walk left and I will fly right

My puzzle is not complete but now I can see my future
Not a single piece has even a remote shadow of your face
Life itself fuels me, it is my god given right, my cure
Surely it is now clear, for I have found my steady pace

In the end, I only wish the best for myself through the Law of Attraction
For you this might seem irregular, but not knowing is okay
Openness is the key, however you have none, not even a fraction
Life is good, I am ready. My future comes forth, and I say, "Bring it!"
