Endless
Poem by Brandon D. Jastal

Swirling trails of fire conflict my head
My heart races and longs for touch
Inside I'm torn, but blood I will not shed
It seems I love, yet it was too much

Feelings no longer trace my face
Null to the world and bound without
I forgave, spite myself with too much haste
Having your love was no option, I had no doubt

I have become the bringer of misery and hope
An alternate reality becomes my homestead
Life without is a masterful task and hard to cope
Almost too hard, yet I haven't wished to be dead

Laughing back on it brings more tears
Each happy moment is now a pain I dread
It never ends, lying awake at night in fear
I have tried so hard to remove you from my head

Tomorrow will be the same day as the last
Begging and pleading completely in shame
It's hard to understand that the past is past
For in your arms is where I wish to remain
