Neverland
I'd like to go there someday
no rain, or worry or responsibility
would you go there with me, Peter
We could play all day
Just you and I, Peter
It would be fun.
We could dance with the Indians
Sing with the Mermaids
Fly with fairies
Plunder with pirates
You and I, Peter
I'd like to go there someday
but I'm afraid I never shall
For I have chores and work
and I cannot play all day
I cannot dance with Indians
and I do not believe in Mermaids
and I cannot fly with fairies.
And Peter, you are nothing but
a glimmer of hope that one day
I will wake up worry-less, chore less
and with no responsibility and then
I, Peter will play all day long.
