Merry Christmas to My Students!

I wanted you to know, this note comes from the heart

I was searching on line, for a gift to set me apart!

But when I started shopping, you just would not believe

The prices of cool presents, I’d have to become a thief!

I kept at searching for hours, but nothing I could afford

Was anything I would choose, it would certainly leave you bored!

So, then I got an idea, what if we could all just make believe

I would tell you what I’d want to give, it would be more than you could conceive!

So sit back and enjoy the gifts, that I would give… it’s true

If gifts were paid from the heart, this would be my gift to you!

I would bring the ocean to you, so you could play and explore,

I would give you the perfect weather, and the clearest blue sea shore!

I would take you to the moon, just so you could see

If you enjoyed the trip, an astronaut you could be!

And as long as we are dreaming, I’d buy a time machine bus

So we could travel to historical places, when life wasn’t such a fuss!

I would take you to New York, to see a Broadway show

Hop a plane to Wisconsin, to see Brett Favre throw!

We would find the highest mountain, that you and I could see,

Just so you could climb and shout, “Hey world, take a look at me!”

I would buy a couple clouds, so you could jump and play

I would get all of your favorite foods, it would be the perfect day!

A couple shooting stars, a trip around the world real quick

The flu shot would be made of chocolate, so no one would get sick!

But when all of this was over, and life was back to the same way

it is your teacher that is so thankful, of the gifts you give me each day!
