Fog

Poem By Sara L. Fischer

There are no longer screaming streetlights here
But glowing orbs
Floating by some enchantment

In this other world
Where I,
A wide-eyed child,
Am held in the immediate--
I feel secure.
Muffled sounds reassure me
Of my safety, the blanket I hide under.

I'd retreat here forever,
If I could.
But my haven is nomadic.
