Amanita

Poem by Joseph Simmons

Death angel,
so slender and white,
beckon tall, silver nettle
spreading so wide.
A lady so fine
in tentative grace:
no hair out of line
or eyelash displaced.
Silent as gas flame
burning in night,
entrancing, a moth's flame
dancing sin delights.
Bowl me over in fever
in raging fire,
spin into forever
wound in desires!
I can see you when eyes close:
you come out of time,
touch me and explode
in screams in my mind!
You kill softly as gas flame
burning in night,
sear dancing fliers
in agony's light.
You're a lady so fine
in tentative grace:
no hair out of line
or eyelash displaced.

(Author's note: if you look in the encyclopedia or guide to mushrooms you may
find the Amanita is a poisonous mushroom which looks pretty and tastes
delicious, but is almost always fatal, inducing hallucinations a few hours
after consumption.)

STOLEN MY HEART

Poem by D. K.

from that very first moment
the moment i caught your eye
i had a feeling towards you my dear
i felt as though i could really fly

that moment that you spoke to me
it took my breath away
and now i feel like the luckiest person alive
because i get to hear your wonderful voice every day

the moment that you took my hand
and held it so very tight
i knew that this was something special
that this was truly right

each time that you look into my eyes
i want to hold that look forever
each time that you hold me close
i know that it'll always be us two together

i still feel this way my love
every time that you are near
you make me feel things i haven't felt before
you are my entire life, my dear
