Book Excerpts | HAVE YOU EVER Poem by D. K. Have you ever been so happy
Snow Swept Poem by David Cannon
Abandoned streets dormant in winter,
Concealed in a sheathe of whiteness,
Footprints languish to nothingness,
Swept pure of all signs of life,
Amber street lamps tint the pavement,
The only sound is the cadence of the wind,
That whistles an ode of iciness,
Against the misted pane of my window.
My breath lingers on the glacial air,
A taxicab tears through the snow,
Its headlights pierce the room with silver,
Leaving tire tracks that foul the ivory road.
