ANYWHERE BUT HERE

Poem by D. K.

every moment that i spend with you
are moments my heart treasure
every time we hold each other
i want to hold you forever

every time that we're together
i wouldn't want to be anywhere but here
because my worries seem to float away
everytime that you are near

You are everything to me my love
you make every day shine
and every time i have a bad day
you turn up to make it fine

Lakeside Cabin Call

Poem by David Cannon

The morning chorus of the birds,
Eases me gently out of bed,
Shafts of light pierce my window,
To paint the walls with rays of gold,

Open the window breathe the air,
That holds my swaying captive soul,
Glorious sunlight glistens the surface,
Upon the silent sleeping lake,

Here I am at one with nature,
Amongst the lakesides towering trees,
A new-born calf grazes the grass,
On the hillsides rolling fields,

My ruffled hair wisps on the breeze,
As I smile towards the skies,
Boundless blue so crystal clear,
As I rub my sleep worn eyes.
