IMAGINATION

Poem by Claire A. Lacroix

I thanked the lord the other day
For the gift of imagination.
It helped me pass the time away
In pleasant recreation.

My body was sore and heavy with pain;
I could hardly move a finger.
The plans I had made were fruitless and vain
For I had rheumatic fever.

Not long the day nor the sleepless night,
For imagination I spent.
They skipped along in a happy flight;
I was queen wherever I went.

At the skating rink and at the ball
How gracefully I would glide.
In the winter, Summer, Spring or Fall
I would always walk with pride.

And now that I am well again
I still use my imagination,
And thank the Lord that now I can
Really put my plans to action.

AN ODE TO FRIENDSHIP

Poem by Charmaine deSouza

The years have all passed us by,
With moments both happy and sad;
All the times we spent together,
And memories to keep us glad.

You're someone I can turn to,
And I know that you'll be there;
To share a joke or shed some tears,
I know you'll always care.

You're someone I can share hopes and dreams with,
And lean on when I cry;
I hope our friendship strengthens,
As the years roll by!
