Have You Ever

Poem by D. K.

have you ever wanted to run away,
to leave it all behind,
have you ever wished that for just one day,
that to you the world would be kind

have you ever wanted to go somewhere,
where no one else has been,
have you ever wanted to see something,
that no one else has seen

have you ever wished this feeling,
could last for a whole life time,
have you ever wished,
that you could go back to past-times

have you ever wanted to hold someone,
more than you ever have before,
have you ever wished that person,
would come knocking at your door

have you ever seen the look,
in your lovers eyes,
have you ever seen the sadness,
when a close person dies

have you ever seen the place,
to where the dreamers seem to go,
have you ever seen children's faces,
when they seem to glow

have you ever wanted to slow down,
and watch the world go by,
have you ever stopped,
just to say goodbye.

At Ease

Poem by Eric Lee Galindo

You stare as though you know me, but you fail to realize you don't
even
know yourself. The kind that makes ones like me walk, and stare at the
cracks in the ground, or lose myself in the portraits the clouds show
every
now, and then. They sharpen their personalities with classifications,
and
medals. There is only ranking in their pride! Bumping into lost souls
day
after day has made me tired of this town, and so I take myself away
every
night when my sleep allows me, and wake up crying, and reaching for
that
far off place I had been. Constant looks in the mirror have made me
come
to know the greatest person in the world. Silence has let me
understand
the greatest thing, my mind. So I stay here, and wander through these
streets, singing so loud within, as to drown out the ones who I have no
       interest in hearing.
